Activities

Hike

From Historic Homes Zafig you can start your hike directly or start your tour by car:

Comfortable: Leave the apartment and simply walk along Hofgasse until you come to the orchards. There you can do large and small laps through the apple orchards, every path leads you directly back home. On the left side of the valley you will discover the castle ruins of Unter- and Obermontani, and at the sports facility in Laces you will find a small biotope with a fishing pond.

St. Martin cable car - view of the Dolomites: Take a leisurely stroll to the cable car station at the eastern entrance to Latsch. The cable car takes you to St. Martin every half hour. From there you can start more demanding mountain tours or just go for leisurely hikes or walks. The easy hike to the Dolomitenblick is highly recommended.

Challenging:

For experienced hikers, we recommend a day tour to the Tarscher Alm, to the Latscher Alm, a hike to St. Martin or a hike to the Unfallhütte in the Martelltal.

Extreme:

If you are experienced in the mountains and want to climb a bit higher, then climb one of the many peaks around Latsch: For example the Hasenöhrl, the Zwölferkreuz, the Hoher Dieb, the Vermoispitze, the Rotspitze or the Marteller Hütte.

You can find more information and tips for mountain tours on the notice board right outside your front door or in the tourist office.

Enjoy the popular South Tyrolean cuisine or order a delicious pizza or other Italian specialties in the restaurants and pizzerias of Latsch: Pizzeria Jolly (2 minutes on foot), Rössl (5 minutes on foot) or Acquaforum (5 minutes on foot). There is also a real top tip in Latsch for lovers of a hearty grilled chicken or juicy ribs: In the rustic beer cellar on the edge of the forest in Latsch, you can not only eat and drink comfortably, but also endure for hours!
We also have a great tip for connoisseurs: the Michelin-star restaurant Tauberain.

Culture:
Latsch also has a lot to offer for art and culture lovers, including some churches worth seeing. The oldest church is the parish church, St. Peter and Paul. The Nikolauskirche has preserved the Romanesque architectural style. There you can see the oldest work of art from Latsch, the menhir, in a permanent exhibition that is accessible all day and is very well prepared. The most spectacular church interior with the Gothic Lederer altar from 1517 is in the Hospital Church of the Holy Spirit and has been preserved in its original form. And finally, the chapel in Obermontani is another art and cultural historical highlight.
